Our family has grown!

The Debt Advisor Ltd “TDA” was last week warmly welcomed into the ReSolve family.  ReSolve Advisory acquired a majority share in TDA after FCA approval was gained for change of control. ReSolve and TDA share a similar ethos and focus with the desire to do the right thing for our clients.

ReSolve is a business advisory and investment group based in the centre of London. ReSolve offers a range of advisory services including company restructuring, corporate finance, business reorganisation and cyber security. It was established by Cameron Gunn and Mark Supperstone in 2006 and over the past 12 years ReSolve’s turnover, including its investments, exceeds £50 million.

TDA – which incorporates The Business Debt Advisor “TBDA” was set up by Bev Budsworth in 1999 after leaving Deloitte where she spent 17 years and qualified as an Insolvency Practitioner.

Roll forward 19 years, TDA is one of a limited number of companies in the UK which has permission from the FCA to offer both debt counselling and debt management services. It is located on Chester Road in Manchester and its team of 23 offers advice and debt solutions to both individuals and businesses struggling with debt issues. For individuals this includes IVA’s and debt management plans.

The IVA industry has grown significantly with a handful of volume operators dictating the market and many smaller operators ceasing to offer IVA’s to consumers.  This polarisation has been at the expense of the customer whose journey into a debt solution can be lacking in clarity.  The focus of the FCA on the consumers’ journey into an IVA via “debt packagers” is likely to see non-compliant operators exit the market. Regulators of the volume IVA providers are also expected to come down hard on poor practice and mis-selling.

The TDA vision is to ensure individuals and businesses who are struggling with debt issues can trust the advice they are given and if they sign up to a debt solution, they know what to expect and that TDA will deliver.
