Job Title: Cashiering Assistant
Where is the business based? Modern offices at Trafford House, Chester Road, Manchester
Who do I report to? Senior Cashier and Debt Management Manager
Why Me? The Debt Advisor is a rapid growing business with a firm foothold in the IVA and Debt Management market. We are looking to expand the team in order to increase productivity in a number of roles.

You will be results driven, passionate and demonstrate a professional approach to your work at all times. Compliance with standards and procedures is vital.

The role will involve cashiering and credit control for Debt Management, IVA and Corporate.

The role is varied as detailed below and will involve cashiering and credit control for Debt Management, IVA and for Corporate insolvency. Experience in a debt solutions cashiering role would be a material benefit.

What are my key tasks? Downloading and allocating daily receipts. Resolving discrepancies with client payments.

Credit Control – Monitoring Debt Management & IVA Late Payments.

Completing arrears calls which will be subject to quality assurance standards.

Liaising with the bank to open new accounts for clients.

Bank reconciliations and investigating any discrepancies.

Distributing funds to creditors for Debt Management and IVA clients.

Allocating, investigating & reissuing returned BACS and cheque payments from creditors.

Investigating and reissuing non-cashed cheques, expense and journal postings.

Maintaining cashiering documents for Independent Auditor’s reports.

Ensuring a number of trackers and reports are updated with correct and accurate data. Working to strict time frames to avoid breaches.

Compliant cashier who adheres to guidelines and welcomes any feedback on quality.

Excellent telephone technique and negotiation skills.

Dynamic, assertive, efficient and able to multi task.

Strong objection handling skills.

Ability to work to targets daily, weekly and monthly.

Must have a commercial, can do attitude.

High level of interpersonal skills – ability to communicate at all levels.

Able to work in a pressurised, target driven environment.

PC / Keyboard skills.

Word & Microsoft Office intermediate level.

Hours of Work: 8 hours Monday to Thursday – 9.00 – 6.00 (with a minimum of one late shift 10.30 – 7.30) (1 hour lunch)

5.5 hours Friday – 9.00 – 3.30 (1 hour lunch)

37.5 hours per week
